About the HTTP Request Builder
The HTTP Request Builder sends an HTTP request from our server and shows you the response: status, protocol, timing, size, headers and body. Reach for it to try an API endpoint, check which headers a server returns, or test how an endpoint handles a POST, PUT or DELETE without writing code.
You can choose the method (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE, HEAD, OPTIONS), add headers and toggle each one on or off, and send a JSON or raw body. In JSON mode the body is checked for syntax and Content-Type: application/json is added unless you set your own. Redirects are followed by default; turn that off to see the 3xx response itself. The timeout is 30 seconds by default, which is also the maximum. Responses over 1 MiB are truncated.
How to use it
- Pick a method and enter the URL.
- Add any headers, such as
AuthorizationorAccept. - For methods other than
GETandHEAD, enter a body. - Press Send, or

curl.

Common questions
Can I test localhost or a private network API?
Not from the hosted site. The request is sent from our server, which blocks localhost, link-local and private network addresses.
Why does the response differ from what my browser gets?
The request comes from our server's IP address with its own User-Agent and without your browser's cookies, so servers may respond differently.
Are my requests or tokens stored?
No. The request and response pass through our server and are not stored beyond standard server request logs.
