Terms of Use

Last updated October 2, 2026

These terms apply to your use of Webmaster Tools (the "Service"), operated by Webmaster Tools ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

The Service provides developer utilities: in-browser formatters, converters, decoders and generators; server-side network diagnostics; a webhook inspector; an HTTP request builder; a WebSocket tester; and an AI assistant. It is offered free of charge, without accounts, and may change, be limited or be discontinued at any time.

2. Acceptable use

Several tools send traffic from our server to hosts you choose. You may only point them at systems you own or are authorized to test. In particular, you agree not to use the Service to:

  • scan, probe or send requests to systems without the owner's permission;
  • attack, overload or disrupt any network, service or person, including by sending automated or high-volume requests;
  • access data or systems you are not authorized to access, or bypass security or access controls;
  • send, store or relay unlawful, malicious or infringing content, including malware, through the webhook inspector or request builder;
  • interfere with the Service itself, circumvent its limits, or use it in violation of any law.

We may block traffic, restrict features or refuse service to anyone who breaks these rules, and may cooperate with network operators or authorities investigating abuse.

3. Webhook URLs

Webhook inspector URLs are not password protected. Anyone who knows a URL can send requests to it and can view the requests it has captured. Treat the URL like a secret, and don't send production credentials, personal data or other sensitive information to it. Captured requests are kept in memory only (the most recent 100 per URL) and are lost when the server restarts; the Service is not a place to store data.

4. The AI assistant

The assistant generates answers with an AI model from Anthropic and may run network checks on your behalf. AI output can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Verify results before acting on them, especially before changing DNS, security or email configuration. Don't include secrets or personal data in your messages. Your use of the assistant must also comply with Anthropic's usage policies.

5. Your content

You are responsible for the data you enter into or send through the Service and confirm you have the right to use it. We claim no ownership of it. We process it only to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Results from diagnostic tools reflect what our server observed at that moment and may differ from what others see.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profits or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
