What's My IP & IP Lookup

Your IP, owner, ASN and reverse DNS.

Shows the network owner, origin ASN and reverse DNS. The country is where the network is registered; there is no city-level location.

About the IP Lookup

With the box empty, this page shows your own public IP address as our server sees it. Enter an IP address or hostname to look that up instead; for a hostname, the first of its A and AAAA records is used.

For each public address the tool shows the IP version, the reverse DNS name (PTR record), and the network registration from the regional internet registry (ARIN, RIPE NCC, APNIC, LACNIC or AFRINIC) over RDAP: network name, organization, address range and CIDR, country and the abuse contact. The origin autonomous system (ASN), its name and the announced prefix come from Team Cymru's IP-to-ASN DNS service.

There is no city or street-level location. The country shown is where the network is registered, which is often not where the address is used. Private, loopback, carrier-grade NAT and other reserved addresses are labeled as such and no outside lookups are made for them.

How to use it

  1. Leave the field empty to see your own address, or enter an IPv4 address, an IPv6 address or a hostname.
  2. Select Look up. To report abuse from an address, write to its abuse contact.

Common questions

Why does my IP show a different city or ISP elsewhere?

Geolocation services guess from commercial databases. This tool reports what the registries publish: the owner, not a place.

What is an ASN?

An autonomous system number identifies a network that routes its own address blocks on the internet, such as an ISP, a cloud provider or a large company.

Why is there no reverse DNS?

The owner of the address block never set up a PTR record. Mail servers should always have one.
