Special characters \ ; , : " are escaped with a backslash, as the Wi-Fi QR format requires. The password is part of the image: anyone who scans it can join.
Options
Higher error correction survives damage or a logo on top, at the cost of a denser code. Scanners expect a quiet zone of 4 modules.

About the QR Code Generator
This tool turns a URL, plain text, Wi-Fi login, email, phone number or SMS into a QR code in your browser. It picks the smallest QR version that fits at your error correction level, then draws a sharp PNG at the exact size you set and builds an SVG from a single path that scales without blurring.
Wi-Fi codes use the WIFI:T:WPA;S:<network>;P:<password>;H:false;; format that iPhone and Android cameras read, with \, ;, ,, : and " escaped by a backslash. Email codes become mailto: links with an encoded subject and body, phone codes tel: and SMS codes SMSTO:. It shows the exact encoded text and warns when the colors are too close or inverted to scan, or the quiet zone is too thin.
How to use it
- Choose a content type and fill in the fields.
- Pick an error correction level, image size and quiet zone.
- Optionally change the colors; keep dark modules on a light background.
- Download the PNG or SVG, or copy the SVG markup.
Examples
- QR code for https://webmastertools.dev: a short URL gives a small code that's easy to scan.
- QR code for a line of text: non-ASCII text is encoded as UTF-8.
Common questions
Which error correction level should I use?
M is a good default. Use Q or H if the code will be printed on rough surfaces or a logo will cover part of it; higher levels make the code denser.
Do QR codes expire?
No. The content is stored in the image itself, so a code works as long as the URL it points to does.
How big should a printed QR code be?
A common rule of thumb is a width of at least a tenth of the scanning distance, and never less than 2 cm including the quiet zone.
